This thread is mainly directed at those of you in the military or who have been active military in the past 5 to 10 years.

On a military base or post - Whats it like for spouses?

Does the military help them find jobs if they just moved to be there with their husband or wife?

Now that are more and more women in the military - Whats it like for civilian husbands of women in the Army or Marines?

How are these men treated by the men on base who are in the military?

Do the men socialize with husbands of their fellow solders/marines ?

Just wondering....

I understand that many military families move around a lot. Which is really hard on the kids. I don't have the source, but I have heard that bullying is much higher on a military housing base than there is in the average family typical neighbourhood.

I do hope that there are some military dudes here. I would guess that there would be more camaraderie amongst the military men, if for nothing else than a shared style of life and that they to only have short friendships amongst their crowd. It is just easier to connect with those that share the same experience and knowledege that either of you could ship out at any time, than it is to make friendships outside of the military and not having the time to fully develop one.

Of course this is mostly conjecture on my part, I could be totally wrong. ;)
